Dave Speelhoffer
Owner, Design/Builder

Dave Speelhoffer, owner and design/builder of About Space Builders, has over 25 years of construction experience in the home improvement industry. He specializes in designing and finishing basements, remodeling kitchens, attic conversions, renovating interiors and constructing home additions.

Dave's fundamental understanding of design, construction processes and material costs allows him to streamline each project, saving his clients valuable scheduling time and budgetary dollars.

For every project, Dave manages his team of talented tradesmen, consultants and trusted trade partners to create smartly-designed and impeccably-built spaces.

He began his training in his early teen years, assisting his father, Charles, with general construction. Charles Speelhoffer owned and operated his custom building business for over 40 years in the Perkiomenville area.
 
Dave absorbed extensive knowledge of all phases of the business and found he had a special gift for conceptualizing and design. He was a valued employee who worked hard to gain the necessary hands-on experience. Upon Dave's graduation from Berks Technical School, his father proudly changed the name of their company to Speelhoffer & Son Builders.

Business expanded rapidly, and Dave and his father spent many years satisfying their clients' home improvement needs.
 
In 1993, Dave also established a small patio enclosure and custom deck business alongside his family construction business. He enjoyed designing these unique spaces to fit each client's specialized needs.

Combining his design talents with his passion for high-quality construction, Dave created his "concept to completion" philosophy. In 2002, the family business was renamed About Space Builders to better reflect this design-driven building focus.

About Space Builders provides a complete design/build experience. Dave works closely with each client to help them formulate ideas into thoughtful floor plan designs and beautifully constructed spaces. He orchestrates every phase of your project, including design, planning, budgeting, supervision and construction, to ensure stunning results.

Dave resides in Chester Country with his wife, Barbara, and their four children.
